We want all our members of staff to have fulfilling, sustainable and long-term careers in law.
We will outline a clear path for progression within the firm and support you in pursuing this.
You will have the opportunity to attend relevant courses and may work towards specialist qualifications and accreditations if these are deemed suitable.
As a Lexcel accredited firm, we have excellent management practices. Each solicitor has monthly supervisions and file reviews where they can discuss cases as well as their own professional development.
Flexible working is important to us, especially since the pandemic. We have seen the benefits of working remotely to staff and the firm.
We understand that working as a Family Lawyer is extremely rewarding but can also be stressful. We believe it is important to get the balance right so you can do the best work for your clients and also look after yourself. This is why we encourage and promote a healthy work-life balance and are sympathetic to your personal and family needs.
As a well-established firm, we receive instructions on a wide range of exciting, complex and interesting family law cases.
We work on high-level cases that involve the instruction of Silk, and other family specialist counsel from the best sets, as well as renowned pension experts and forensic accountants. Some of our cases end up in the Court of Appeal. We frequently handle cases with leading firms, including top tier London firms, acting on the other side.
We are enthusiastic supporters and referrers of cases to mediation and other ADR, including arbitration and private FDR’s. Danielle Peters is one of the few Law Society accredited FMCA mediators in the region. Sharon Montgomery is a Resolution trained collaborative lawyer. We are committed to helping parties reach agreement without the need for contested hearings, where possible.
If appropriate, we also undertake our own advocacy in finance and private children cases including final hearings.
You should have experience in private law family cases including:
- Finance case types, ranging from high net-worth divorces involving complex pensions, significant assets, issues of matrimonial and non-matrimonial property, and non-disclosure, as well as nuptial agreements.
