Senior Associate, Solicitor - Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings), Family and Children Law Specialist

I trained and have specialised in Family and Children Law since 2008. I usually undertake the advocacy in most of the cases I handle, so that I offer my clients continuity of representation, both in the office and at Court.

I cover both Private and Public Children Law matters which includes Child Arrangements Orders and relocation of children.

In Care Proceedings I act for parents, relatives, foster carers, adopters, children and intervenors, when concerns are raised by Social Services, including complex issues regarding Non Accidental Injury, physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

In 2012 I was accredited by the Law Society as a member of the Law Society Children Panel, demonstrating my expertise in the law regarding children.

In 2017 I was granted Higher Rights of Audience (Civil Proceedings) and this allows me to represent my clients as a Solicitor-Advocate in the courts of England and Wales.

I was delighted to have been elected as President of the Hertfordshire Law Society for 2018. I also serve on the Local Family Justice Board Council as the representative for the Hertfordshire Law Society and along with the other Council members, I am committed to helping improve the performance of the family justice system and to ensure the best possible outcomes for children who come into contact with it.

As well as acting for parents, relatives, Foster Carers and Adopters, I often represent children via their Children’s Guardian or directly, in different counties including Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex and the London area.

In the past I have worked with refuges and domestic violence support groups to offer advice to men and women who have experienced domestic abuse.

I deal with a whole spectrum of Children matters, including the following:

All aspect of Care proceedings including Fact Finding Hearing element (for all parties and intervenors), Special Guardianship, Adoption (including contested step parent adoption cases), Appeals, deprivation of liberty (for children) including Secure Accommodation.

Private children law including Child Arrangements, Specific Issue (including relocation of children abroad) and Prohibited Steps

Family Law: Injunctive proceedings – Non Molestation and Occupation Orders, Transfer of Tenancy.

Outside the office

I have skydived from 5,000ft to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which helps fund advice centres to help the poorest and most vulnerable people in our communities. I take part in charity Legal Walks and along with my colleagues I bake yearly for the Great Legal Bake off.

I enjoy travelling, body combat and supporting various charitable causes by committing my time and energy to raising awareness and funds.
