Legal Secretary and Client Support

I am the Legal Secretary in the Commercial Property department, having joined Crane and Staples in 2015.

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2011 with a Joint Honours degree in Law with Journalism and Media Cultures and completed the Legal Practice Course the following year, also at the University of Hertfordshire. Whilst studying for my degree, I also volunteered at a local Citizens Advice Bureau. In October 2017 I became a Graduate Member with CILEx and am currently working towards becoming a CILEx Fellow.

I support the Commercial and Residential Property Department fee earners and other colleagues with any communicative or administrative tasks required as part of the transaction.

This includes speaking to and liaising with clients, solicitors and other industry professionals.

I also assist with preparing and amending legal documentation, requesting searches, updating LMS, preparing Land Registry applications along with any other pre and post completion tasks.

Some of the areas our department covers are;:

  • Selling and purchasing both commercial premises and residential properties
  • Selling or purchasing a business
  • Selling or taking a lease
  • Lease renewals
  • Lease extensions
  • Leasehold enfranchisement

I also assist with organisation and participation in the firm’s marketing, charitable and social events. In 2018 I assisted the then Hertfordshire Law Society President, Attia Hussain with the organisation of the Hertfordshire Law Society Annual Dinner of the same year.

Outside the office

I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going for meals out and also going on holiday. I like keeping up to date with showbiz/entertainment news and I love live music and theatre, so I always look forward to festival season and going to an outdoor cinema if I can.

As part of the firm’s charitable events, I have also completed a 5k Pretty Muddy run in 2016, a 5k Bubble Run & 8km St Albans legal walk in 2018, and a 5k Race For Life in June 2019.
