Le Petit Tour and summer drinks
We had fantastic time at the 2017 Welwyn Garden Petit Tour on Sunday!
We were delighted to sponsor the inaugural Welwyn Crane & Staples Junior Sportive where over 50 children aged 12 and under tested their stamina riding laps of the official circuit. There were some incredible performances with Ella aged 12 cycling nearly 25 km as she completed 31 laps. Henry aged 6 completed 20 laps and the youngest participant Marley aged 3 an impressive 3 laps!
Our head to head 'bike-off' on static bikes proved a great success with friends, parents and children vying for position at the top of the leaderboard. Competitors had 60 seconds to see how far they could cycle. Chris H held the lead for most of the day at 1.16km but was pipped to the post in the last hour.
Mayor Councillor Lynne Sparks kindly came to support us as part of her 'Celebrating Welwyn Hatfield' theme for her year as Mayor.
We would like to thank Kinetic Cycles for all their support and for lending us the two static bikes.
Crane & Staples summer drinks
This year we thought we’d celebrate summer in style. The Ramblers HQ in Lemsford provided a stunning backdrop for a summer drinks event, complimented by an elegant marquee. Over 100 friends, supporters and colleagues enjoyed a very pleasant few hours by the river with traditional Pimms and canapés.
