Sharon Montgomery talks to BOB fm about Sunflower Welwyn Hatfield

The location of domestic abuse support centres is just as important as the help given to those who attend...

That from the Chair of Welwyn Hatfield's Domestic Abuse Forum - who this week have announced the new home of local organisation Sunflower.

It moves today, from Breaks Manor to Gracemead House in Hatfield.

Some of the specific services provided include: legal advice, information on housing options, and also enforcement options (possible action against the abuser).

The centre always welcomes people who just wish to talk through their options or get more information about other agencies that may offer help and support.

Sharon Montgomery chairs the Welwyn Hatfield Domestic Abuse Forum.

She's been telling BOB fm that Sunflower's location has to be "the right environment" for those who use it: "The Sunflower drop-in continues to provide an extremely important range of services for vulnerable women and men across Welwyn Hatfield, so it's important we get the message out as widely as possible about the change of address.

Anyone who comes to see us can rest assured that all the services provided by Sunflower are free, confidential and impartial.

This includes the domestic abuse helpline, which is also free to call and will not show up on phone bills".
